Scott has over 40 years of experience in forest management, timber sale/road preparation, appraisals, and administration. His experience includes working with small private landowners, large timberlands and state and federal land agencies. Scott has taught numerous classes on Forest Management, log scaling/log quality, timber and logging costs, and logging history. He is an Accredited Logging professional (ALP) and is a Certified Forester and Fellow from the Society of American Forester (SAF). He has won numerous awards for his work in forest management, forestry/logging history and is a SAF national award recipient.
Scott is also the Historical Chairman for the Montana SAF which operates the Forestry Interpretive Area (FIA) at the Historical Museum at Fort Missoula.
The FIA includes numerous restored logging and forestry displays, including a steam-powered sawmill, retired 1933 Forest Service fire lookout tower and much more.
Doug operates as our Resource Forester to eastern Idaho and the Bitterroot Valley of Western Montana. He is experienced in timber sale appraisal, administering sale contracts, and buying and selling timber.
Doug received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Montana and started his career with Plum Creek Timber Company. Doug chose forestry as a career because he loves working outdoors with trees and working with the landowners – and not necessarily in that order!

Working with a Master of Science degree in Forest and Range Management from Washington State University, Gordy coordinates Pyramid’s team of foresters. Gordy is familiar with Montana’s timber industry, having worked as a forester for Anaconda Forest Products, Champion International, and Plum Creek Timber Company before coming to Pyramid. Along with local duties, Gordy networks with timber groups and state and federal agencies to improve forest management methods and practices. He fills the role of instructor at many workshops. Gordy also serves as an auditor for the State of Montana Forestry Best Management Practices. Gordy has received numerous awards and recognitions, including “Timberman of the Year” and “Communicator of the Year” by the Montana Wood Products Association. Click here to download resume’.
